Sambhal Ke! Meri Aawargi
That goes out for all those who are planning to watch the film Good Boy Bad Boy and also for those who have seen it; the former because, well, it is a bad film and the latter for those who are still reeling from having watched it.
Good Boy Bad Boy has been voted as one of the flops of the ear unanimously. The story about a “good” nerdy boy (Tusshar Kapoor) and a “bad” boy (Emran Hashmi) who meet in college and who help each other out has been done to death. Not only that, like all conventional movies that follow the same plot, they even fall for girls who are completely polar to their understanding.
Though the film bombed, the songs are not that bad. In fact, the song being reviewed here is one of the most popular songs from the film- Meri awaragi meri deewanagi. There are many who have really appreciated the song and it is one of the songs doing the rounds of the discos.
The setting of the song is in a discotheque itself. It features Emran Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta. The mood that the song creates is very vibrant and full of energy. The choreography and the lighting have been done really well for the song. The peppy track is appropriately complemented by the above mentioned.
Now to the music, well, Himesh Reshammiya is the music director of this flick. Understandably, the music is very reminiscent of his earlier compositions. Nonetheless, it still seems to work its magic like its predecessors and has been well received. There are many who support the view point that he is much better at music direction than singing - something that he has recently made his foray in. But thankfully at least he hasn’t insisted on appearing in the video!!
It is interesting to see that Himesh Reshammiya has sung for the hero in this track too. He has done a good job of it, but as mentioned before, it’s very similar to his previous tracks. The female playback is provided by Himani Kapoor – one might remember her from a certain talent hunt on television. She seems to have done pretty well for herself; considering her contemporaries are still struggling to find a foothold in this industry which is bursting at its seams. She seems quite promising and has done a commendable job in this track.
Another thing that adds a lot of value to this track is the mind blowing lyrics. Catchy with great recall value, they do most of the work. They actually blend very well with the music, which is something that most songs lack today.
To end with, the actors too have managed this track very well. Emran Hashmi seems to take to Himesh’s voice better than most heroes - it’s like performing on home turf for him. As for Tanushree, well, she is turning into one of the best item girls that Bollywood has today and surprisingly, she is the heroine! Anyways, she pulls this song off with aplomb.Not a bad track at all.
