Thanks for visiting this website - Nice Songs. Looking at the vast repertoire of Indian music - film and non film, there are so many songs which can be termed as a ‘nice song’. What makes it so nice? my response can only be subjective. I like this music because it relates with me; it takes me to a time in memory; when the world looked very beautiful to me. I like the music because it rejuvenates me; gives me an inspirational boost.
A melody to me, need not be melody to you; Nice to me, need not be nice to you too. Rafi fans say all Rafi songs are good, Kishore fans say all Kishore songs are good. A music performance that is performed in Bhopal if performed in Calcutta, would it receive similar response from the general audience? Good or bad is always subject to some references. A song that can be good to the performer, may or may not be good to the listener and vice versa.
The songs that I feature on this website is not based on popularity or count down scales, but purely on the melody of it - something that feels nice to listen to. Music that follows certain principles, norms. The sound of the instrument and vocals should be pleasing and warmly acceptable. The tune should remain in laya and tala. etc.,
