Nice Songs

Music is the language that binds people all over the world. People however different in caste, colour and creed sway in harmony to music. In fact it serves a number of purposes. Music is heard for pleasure, during celebrations and even to calm or soothe tensed nerves. It is a well known fact that students or people engaged in high pressure jobs have music playing all the time. It is a bonanza in hand when a musical which does full justice to the theme is made. Sur, The Melody of Life is just that. It is replete with some memorable numbers which will remain on the popularity charts for a long time to come.

Sur as the name suggests, is a musical with Lucky Ali being the main protagonist. He dons the role of a musical genius Vikramaditya Singh with consummate ease. Vikramaditya who is the singing sensation of his country runs a school specially to hone the talents of those who otherwise would not get a chance. While even as he remains busy, his loneliness and the fear that he would not be able to pass on his legacy continue to haunt him.

A chance encounter in a church in Goa , offers him a glimpse of Tina Marie (Gauri Karnik). He is mesmerized by her angelic voice and realizes that it is she only who could take over his legacy. He now sets to woo her and convince her to return with him so that he could teach her every nuance of music. The emotional struggle of the two equally talented people comes to the fore during the movie. This is highlighted through some very melodious and soulful songs which are the backbone of the movie.

The song Dil Mein Jaagi Dhadkan is one such number which can be hummed again and again. Picturised on Gauri Karnik, it celebrates life and love. The lyrics of this romantic melody have been penned by Nida Fazli with M.M. Kreem providing the music. The song has been taken to a new height by Sunidhi Chauhan who gives a very mature rendition.

The song begins with the soft strains of the violin before moving on to a racy tempo which it maintains through out the song. Love is best expressed through music and that is exactly what this song does. In this song the protagonist claims to have lost the ability to think rationally after falling in love. She forgets to sleep, eat, sing and even views the world all topsy turvy after falling in love. She compares love to that sweet emotion that the first drops of rain bring with them. With her heart on a song she loses focus of all things and even at times feels the sky under her feet!

This beautiful song makes us view the world with rosy eyes where every thing looks just right. Sunidhi Chauhan with her wonderful voice makes us believe that, truly love does make the world go round. Dil Mein Jaagi Dhadkan makes each one believe in the magic of love and is sure to stay on the charts for a long, long time.
